What's this all about?

Equine Healing and Communication.

It's about improving our whole relationship with our horse. We often ask a lot from our equine friends and they give freely until discomfort, pain or trauma sets in.

Behavioural problems can be a sign that all is not well, this may eventually lead to more physical problems like unlevelness or even lameness.

By simply standing back and looking at our horses we can sometimes see that their posture has changed, muscles have tightened and they display displeasure at being touched in certain areas, or showing behavioural issues. But what can we do about it?

What I offer is:

Hands on healing with the horse to alleviate discomfort.Hands on healing with the rider to improve awareness, posture and reduce discomfort and tightness (probably without you even knowing you had it).Improve flexibility and balance of horse and rider.Help you to recognise your influence on the horse.Teach you to be an active part in the process, which results in long term trust, respect and harmony.

You may feel that you and your horse don't necessarily need all of the above but may just like a relaxing treatment, thats ok too!

How is this accomplished?

My work is about communicating at both physical and emotional levels through Reiki, using groundwork to improve connection and confidence with positive/intuitive thought processes and natural horsemanship, then helping to rebalance the rider in ridden work.

During a Reiki session the participant relaxes, often deeply; increased oxygenated blood is carried to depleted areas, (this can be seen in the softening of tense muscles)

easing discomfort or pain. This enhances the bond with the horse. Issues can sometimes be revealed which may need to be addressed too, i.e. tack fitting, foot balance, feed etc.

Using groundwork (that does not involve the use of "gadgets") via body language, focus and positive thought processes the horse understands how to lengthen and relax the body in movement.

The riders correct balance and mental connection with the horse is imperative to improving both wellbeing and the essential relationship between horse and rider. The rider is helped to understand how they influence the horse with their posture, thoughts and tensions.

Changes can take place very quickly by addressing and rectifing key issues to some fundamental problems.

This is not about creating a perfect rider; but comfort, trust and enjoyment for you and your horse. When we really enjoy 'the moment', what could be more perfect.
